Marlins vs Mariners Prediction

The Miami Marlins (12-13) and Seattle Mariners (14-12) get set for the series finale at T-Mobile Park with first pitch scheduled for 2:10 PM ET. Miami took the opener 8-4 on Friday night, giving them the edge in the early series. Max Meyer (2-2, 2.10 ERA) gets the ball for the Marlins while Bryce Miller (1-3, 4.21 ERA) will start for the Mariners. Both pitchers will be looking to help close the weekend strong. Miami is trying to claw back to .500 after some uneven play to start the season. Friday’s 8-4 win over Seattle showed some life in the bats, especially from Matt Mervis, who leads with 7 homers. Miami has won four of its last five games and seems to be gaining some momentum. Injuries have been an issue with Declan Cronin, Derek Hill, Woo-Suk Go, Nick Fortes, and Rob Brantly, all currently sidelined.

Defensively, the Marlins have struggled, posting a team ERA of 4.86 and a WHIP of 1.42. Max Meyer has been a bright spot, giving up just 7 walks in 30 innings while striking out 41. Miami’s bullpen, however, remains a concern, especially against a Mariners team that has shown power. Opponents are hitting .249 against Miami pitching, and the team will need Meyer to be sharp to have a shot at another win.

Seattle has been solid overall but stumbled on Friday, giving up eight runs to a Marlins squad that has been inconsistent. Despite the setback, the Mariners have won eight of the last eleven games and sit a few games over .500. Cal Raleigh continues to be a force at the plate with 9 home runs, and J.P. Crawford is getting on base at a .398 clip.

On defense, the Mariners’ strength has been pitching, with a team ERA of 3.85 and an opponent batting average of .248. Bryce Miller has been shaky, though, with a 1.44 WHIP and 14 walks allowed in just 25.2 innings. Seattle’s bullpen is also dealing with injuries, with Matt Brash, Trevor Gott, and Taylor Dollard all on the IL.

Marlins vs Mariners Pick Analysis

Seattle has the stronger bullpen, and Miami’s pitching issues beyond Max Meyer are too much to overlook. The Mariners' ability to hit the long ball, combined with the Marlins' high ERA, tips the scales here. Expect Bryce Miller to limit damage enough while Seattle’s offense does enough against Miami's vulnerable pen. Final Score Prediction: Seattle Mariners win 5-3.
