Angels vs Orioles Picks and Prediction – 3/28/2024

Beautiful Camden Yards will play host to a Thursday afternoon MLB clash between the Los Angeles Angels and the Baltimore Orioles. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions.  The Angels lost two-time MVP Shohei Ohtani in free agency to the rival Dodgers and could be in for a long year. For Los Angeles to eclipse the 73-win mark they have posted in consecutive seasons, three-time MVP Mike Trout and veteran 3B Anthony Rendon will have to stay healthy. 

Twenty-seven year old lefty Patrick Sandoval (7-13 4.11 ERA) will make his first Opening Day start for the Angels. In four Spring Training starts, Sandoval was knocked around for 16 hits and 12 runs (9 ER) in 11 plus innings. 

The Baltimore Orioles are the defending AL East Division Champions and their 101 wins were good for second in all of baseball. The Orioles are loaded with positional talent that includes Anthony Santander, Ryan O’Hearn and Ryan Mountcastle. Baltimore closer Felix Bautista has been lost for the season with an elbow injury and the team may have to move some of their everyday players to bolster their pitching staff. 

Twenty-nine year old righty Corbin Burnes (10-8 3.39 ERA) will make his first start as a member of the Orioles. Burnes, who was acquired in a blockbuster deal with Milwaukee in February, has been a three-time All-Star and won the 2021 National League Cy Young Award.
