Royals vs Tigers Picks and Prediction – 4/26/2024

On Thursday, Salvador Perez’s two-run blast in the opening frame was all the offense Kansas City would need during a 2-1 home victory versus Toronto in a rain-shortened five inning affair. 

Thirty-four year old righty Seth Lugo (3-1 2.03 ERA) will take the mound for the Royals in this matchup. Last time out, Lugo (5.1 IP) gave up nine hits and four runs during a 5-0 home loss versus Baltimore. 

The Detroit Tigers are three games below .500 at home and trail AL Central Division leading Cleveland by four games. On Wednesday, Detroit RP Will Vest (1-1) gave up three runs during the sixth inning of a 7-5 road loss against Tampa Bay. Mark Canha drove in a pair of runs and Javier Baez added an RBI double that gave the Tigers (14-11) a brief 5-4 lead. 

Detroit manager A.J. Hinch will give the nod to twenty-four year old righty Reese Olson (0-3 3.80 ERA) in the series opener. Through 21 plus innings, Olson has not allowed a home run and has struck out 18 batters.
