On Sunday, Washington batters went 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base during a 3-1 home loss versus Miami. SP MacKenzie Gore (3-6) gave up two runs in six innings and took the loss for the Nationals (30-41). 

Washington manager Dave Martinez will turn to right-hander Jake Irvin (5-3 4.21 ERA) on Monday. Last time out, Irvin (5 IP) gave up four runs and fanned four batters during a 5-0 road loss against New York. 

Colorado OF Kris Bryant (back) played catch prior to Tuesday’s game and is expected to return at the beginning of next month. Through 71 games, Colorado ranks 28th in OPS and 30th in runs scored.
