Rockies vs Twins Picks and Prediction – 6/12/2024

The Wednesday MLB schedule will get underway with a matinee between the Colorado Rockies and the Minnesota Twins from Target Field. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions. The Rockies (24-43) have dropped 26 of their first 37 road games and own the second worst overall record in the National League. Last night, SS Ezequiel Tovar hit a three-run blast and Ryan McMahom added a solo shot to power Colorado to a 5-4 road victory against Minnesota. 

Thirty year old left-hander Austin Gomber (1-3 3.38 ERA) will take the mound for the Rockies in this matchup. Colorado has lost Gomber’s last two starts and he has surrendered seven runs over his last eight innings. 

The Minnesota Twins have lost seven of their previous ten games and have fallen nine games off the pace in the AL Central Division race. On Tuesday, Minnesota batters went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. Carlos Santana and Byron Buxton each went deep in a losing effort for the Twins (35-32), who are now 17-14 at home on the year. 

Minnesota manager Rocco Baldelli will give the nod to struggling right-hander Pablo Lopez (5-6 5.45 ERA) on Wednesday. Through 71 innings of work, Lopez has struck out 79 batters and owns a respectable 1.23 WHIP.
