The Minnesota Twins are three games above .500 at home and are 8.5 games off the pace in the AL Central Division race. On Sunday, Manuel Margot hit a go-ahead triple as Minnesota erupted for seven runs in the tenth inning of an 11-5 road triumph against Pittsburgh. SS Carlos Correa collected three hits and scored twice for the Twins, who improved to 34-31 on the year. 

The Twins will counter with twenty-eight year old righty Chris Paddack (4-3 5.26 ERA) in the series opener. In his last start, Paddack (4 IP) was tagged for seven runs and struck out seven batters during a 9-5 road loss against New York.
