Rockies vs Marlins Picks and Prediction – 6/4/2025

Last night, C Hunter Goodman delivered an eighth inning solo shot to lift Colorado to a 3-2 road victory against Miami. 

Thirty-two year old southpaw Kyle Freeland (0-8 5.72 ERA) would like to put the first two months of the season behind him. Last time out, Freeland (6 IP) was tagged for seven hits and three runs during a 4-2 road loss against New York. 

The Miami Marlins are five games below .500 at home and are stuck in the NL East Division standings. During Tuesday’s home loss, Miami batters went 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 2022 NL Cy Young Award winner Sandy Alcantara gave up two runs in six innings and did not factor in the decision for the Marlins, who fell to 23-36 on the year. 

The Marlins will counter with thirty year old right-hander Cal Quantrill (3-5 5.84 ERA) in the series finale. Miami has won three of Quantrill’s previous five starts and he has allowed eight runs across his last 22 plus innings. 

Colorado SP Austin Gomber (shoulder) will resume a rehab assignment with Double-A Hartford on Tuesday. Through 61 games, Colorado ranks 29th in OPS and 30th in runs scored.
