Guardians vs Pirates Picks and Prediction – 4/20/2025

In Sunday afternoon MLB action, the Cleveland Guardians and the Pittsburgh Pirates will wrap up their weekend series from PNC Park. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions. Twenty-six year old righty Logan Allen (1-1 2.30 ERA) will head to the hill for the Guardians in this contest. In his last start, Allen fired five plus shutout frames and fanned six batters during a 6-3 road victory against Baltimore. 

The Pittsburgh Pirates have split their first 12 home games and are trapped in the NL Central Division basement. During yesterday’s home loss, Pittsburgh fans lined up early to receive a Paul Skenes bobblehead doll. Skenes (2-2) gave up two runs in seven innings and was the hard luck loser for the Pirates (8-14), who went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position. 

Twenty-nine year old righty Mitch Keller (1-2 4.30 ERA) is a quality middle of the rotation pitcher for the Pirates. Through 23 innings of work, Keller has allowed just one home run and struck out 17 batters while posting a 1.35 WHIP.

Pittsburgh SP Jared Jones (elbow) has been transferred to the 60-day injured list and is not eligible to make his season debut until July. Through 20 games, Cleveland ranks 13th in OPS and 20th in runs scored. For the regular season, Pittsburgh ranks 28th in OPS and 23rd in runs scored. Take the Pirates to win at home.
