Guardians vs Tigers Picks and Prediction – 7/30/2024

The Tuesday MLB schedule will get underway with a matinee between the Cleveland Guardians and the Detroit Tigers from Comerica Park. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB picks. The Guardians (64-42) are four games below .500 on the road and hold a five-game lead over Minnesota for first place in the AL Central Division. Last night, All Star 3B Jose Ramirez homered twice and scored three runs to lead Cleveland to an 8-4 road triumph against Detroit. 

Twenty-five year old righty Gavin Williams (0-3 4.50 ERA) will make his sixth start of the year for the Guardians. Last time out, Williams (6 IP) gave up three runs and struck out nine batters during a 3-0 home loss versus Detroit. 

The Detroit Tigers have dropped consecutive games and will likely be sellers ahead of Tuesday’s MLB Trade Deadline. In Monday’s series opener, Detroit opener Beau Brieske was tagged for three runs in the opening frame and took the loss. Wenceel Perez connected on a two-run shot in the ninth inning for the Tigers (52-56), who fell to 25-27 at home. 

Detroit manager A.J. Hinch has yet to announce a starting pitcher for this contest. The Tigers currently rank 14th in the majors with a 3.92 ERA and have logged 45 quality starts.
