Guardians vs Tigers Picks and Prediction – 7/10/2024

Last night, Josh Naylor delivered a go-ahead single in the tenth inning to lift Cleveland to a 9-8 road victory against Detroit. 

Twenty-five year old righty Tanner Bibee (7-3 3.67 ERA) will head to the hill for the Guardians in this contest. Through 98 innings of work, Bibee has fanned an impressive 115 batters and sports a solid 1.12 WHIP.

The Detroit Tigers have won six of their last ten games and are 7.5 games back in the race for the final AL Wild Card spot. On Tuesday, Detroit trailed by six runs early in the game, but a three-run blast by Gio Urshela and a solo shot from Justyn Henry-Malloy knotted the game at seven. Colt Keith added two hits and scored three runs for the Tigers (43-49), who fell to 20-23 at home. 

The Tigers will counter with twenty-four year old righty Reese Olson (3-8 3.22 ERA) on Wednesday. In his last start, Olson (5.2 IP) allowed two runs (1 ER) and struck out eight during a 5-4 road victory against Cincinnati.
