Guardians vs Tigers Picks and Prediction – 7/8/2024

The Detroit Tigers have won three straight games and are seven games off the pace in the race for the final AL Wild Card spot. On Sunday, Zack McKinstry started the scoring with a run-scoring single and added a two-run blast to spark Detroit to a 5-1 road victory against Cincinnati. SP Tarik Skubal (10-3) fanned 13 batters across seven solid frames to earn the win for the Tigers (42-48), who improved to 23-26 on the road. 

The Tigers will counter with twenty-eight year old righty Jack Flaherty (5-5 3.24 ERA) in the series opener. Detroit has won four of Flaherty’s last five starts and he has allowed just six runs over his last 28 innings
