Reds vs Braves Picks and Prediction – 7/24/2024

The Wednesday MLB schedule will get underway with the first game of a doubleheader between the Cincinnati Reds and the Atlanta Braves from Truist Park. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions. The Reds (48-53) are two games below .500 on the road and are stuck in the NL Central Division basement. On Monday, SP Hunter Greene (7-4) fanned seven batters across seven shutout frames to lead Cincinnati to a 4-1 road victory against Atlanta. 

Thirty-one year old righty Frankie Montas (4-8 4.85 ERA) will take the mound for the Reds in this matchup. Cincinnati has lost Montas’ last two starts and he has surrendered 12 runs across his last 11 plus frames.

The Atlanta Braves have won 30 of their first 50 home games and are sitting atop the NL Wild Card standings. In the series opener, Atlanta SP Reynaldo Lopez (7-4) gave up four runs in six innings and took the loss. DH Marcel Ozuna had a pair of hits and scored the only run for the Braves, who fell to 54-45 overall.

Twenty-eight year old righty Allan Winans (0-1 10.80 ERA) will be recalled from the minors to start for the Braves. In his lone start in the majors this season, Winans was tagged for seven runs in five innings during a 16-4 home loss versus New York.
