White Sox vs Reds Picks and Prediction – 5/15/2025

The Great American Ball Park will be the scene for a Thursday MLB interleague battle between the Chicago White Sox and the Cincinnati Reds. Last night, Michael Taylor and Lenyn Sosa each went deep to power Chicago to a 4-2 road victory against Cincinnati. 

Twenty-seven year old righty Bryse Wilson (4.88 ERA) will make his fourth start of the year for the White Sox. Wilson, who has made ten relief appearances for Chicago, owns an alarming 1.73 WHIP across 27 plus frames. 

The Cincinnati Reds have dropped eight of their last ten games and have fallen five games off the pace in the NL Central Division race. During Wednesday’s home loss, Cincinnati batters went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. SP Nick Lodolo (3-4) gave up three runs in five plus innings and took the loss for the Reds (20-24), who fell to 9-12 at home.  

The Reds will counter with thirty-four year old righty Nick Martinez (1-4 4.23 ERA) in the series finale. Last time out, Martinez (6 IP) was tagged for ten hits and three runs during a 3-0 road loss against Houston. 

Cincinnati SP Hunter Greene is currently on the 15-day injured list with a Grade 1 right groin strain. Through 43 games, Chicago ranks 30th in OPS and 28th in runs scored.
