All-Star SP Max Fried (11-3) gave up three runs in three innings and took the loss for the Yankees (53-42), who fell to 30-18 at home.

The Yankees will counter with twenty-six year old righty Will Warren (6-4 4.70 ERA) in the series finale. Through 90 innings of work, Warren has allowed just eight long balls and retired 111 batters by strikes.

Chicago SP Javier Asaad (oblique) has been throwing bullpen sessions and is not expected to return until next month. Through 95 games, Chicago ranks 4th in OPS and 2nd in runs scored.
