During Friday’s home victory, OF Cody Bellinger went yard three times and drove in six runs to power the New York offense. SP Carlos Rodon (10-6) retired eight batters by strikes across eight shutout frames to earn the win for the Yankees (53-41), who improved to 30-17 at home. 

Thirty-one year old lefty Max Fried (11-2 2.27 ERA) has been selected as an All-Star for the third time in the last four years. Through 119 innings of work, Fried has fanned 111 batters and ranks eighth in the majors with a 0.96 WHIP.

Chicago SP Javier Asaad (oblique) is currently on the 60-day injured list and is not expected to return until next month. Through 94 games, Chicago ranks 3rd in OPS and 2nd in runs scored.
