During Tuesday’s home loss, Miami’s only run came on a third-inning solo shot from C Nick Fortes. SP RP Calvin Faucher (2-2) surrendered six runs and failed to record an out in a losing effort for the Marlins, who fell to 19-28 overall.

Miami manager Clayton McCullough will give the nod to left-hander Max Meyer (3-4 4.47 ERA) on Wednesday. Through 50 plus innings, Meyer has struck out 59 batters and owns a respectable 1.33 WHIP.

Miami SS Xavier Edwards has landed on the 10-day injured list with a left mid-back strain. Through 49 games, Chicago ranks 4th in OPS and 1st in runs scored.
