Thirty year old right-hander Walker Buehler (4-3 4.44 ERA) will take the mound for the Red Sox in this matchup. Boston has dropped Buehler’s previous two starts and he has surrendered seven runs over his last ten plus innings. 

The New York Yankees have won 20 of their first 30 home games and are 5.5 games clear of two teams for the top spot in the division. Last night, OF Cody Bellinger hit a two-run bomb and added an RBI single to power New York to a 4-0 home victory versus Cleveland. SP Max Fried (8-1) fanned seven batters and lasted six innings to earn the win for the Yankees, who improved to 38-23 overall.

The Yankees will counter with twenty-five year old righty Will Warren (3-3 5.19 ERA) in the series opener. Last time out, Warren was roughed up for seven runs and recorded just four outs during an ugly 18-2 road loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers. 

New York DH Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) is targeting the middle of this month to make his season debut. Through 64 games, Boston ranks 5th in OPS and 6th in runs scored.
