Thirty year old left-hander Max Fried (6-2 2.93 ERA) will head to the hill for the Braves in this contest. Atlanta has won Fried’s last three starts and he has allowed just five runs (3 ER) over his last 24 innings. 

The Washington Nationals have won consecutive games and are a distant third place in the NL East Division standings. During yesterday’s home victory, OF Nick Senzel homered and drove in three runs to power the Washington offense. DH Eddie Rosario added a pair of hits and plated three runs for the Nationals (29-35), who improved to 12-17 at home. 

Rookie left-hander D.J. Herz (0-1 9.00 ERA) will make his second career major league start for the Nationals. In his first start, Hertz (4 IP) gave up seven hits and four runs during a 6-3 home loss versus New York.
