Braves vs Red Sox Picks and Prediction – 5/18/2025

In Sunday afternoon MLB interleague action, the Atlanta Braves and the Boston Red Sox will wrap up their weekend series from Fenway Park. The Boston Red Sox have split their previous ten games and trail AL East Division leading New York by four games. On Saturday, Boston walked it off in the ninth inning on a Rafael Devers solo shot. OF Jalen Duran went 2-for-4 with a long ball and four RBIs for the Red Sox (23-24), who improved to 12-10 at home. 

Boston manager Alex Cora will give the nod to talented right-hander Brayan Bello (2-0 2.33 ERA) on Sunday. The Red Sox have won four of Bello’s first five starts and he has allowed seven earned runs over that stretch. 

Atlanta OF Ronald Acuna Jr. (knee) is on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett and hopes to make his season debut later this month. Through 46 games, Atlanta ranks 18th in OPS and 21st in runs scored. For the season, Boston ranks 7th in OPS and 6th in runs scored. Take the Red Sox to win at home.
