Diamondbacks vs Marlins Picks and Prediction – 4/15/2025

The Tuesday MLB schedule will get underway with a battle between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Miami Marlins from loanDepot Park. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions. The Diamondbacks (9-7) have split their first six road games and are four games off the pace in the NL West Division race. On Sunday, leadoff hitter Corbin Carroll went 2-for-4 and scored twice to spark Arizona to a 5-2 home victory versus Milwaukee. 

Thirty-six year old righty Merrill Kelly (2-1 7.20 ERA) will take the mound for the Diamondbacks in this matchup. Control has been an issue for Kelly, who has issued nine walks and given up three long balls through 15 innings. 

The Miami Marlins are two games above .500 at home and are just two games back of New York for the top spot in the NL East Division. On Sunday, OF Kyle Stowers collected three of Miami’s 14 hits and scored three runs during an 11-4 home victory versus Washington. Matt Mervis added a pinch-hit three-run blast to give the Marlins (8-7) a 7-3 advantage.  

Twenty-seven year old righty Connor Gillespie (0-1 3.86 ERA) will make his fourth career major league start for the Marlins. Last time out, Gillespie allowed two runs in four innings during a 10-5 road loss against New York.

Philadelphia SP Ranger Suarez (back) made a successful rehab start on Thursday and is expected to return to the rotation later this month. Through 16 games, Arizona ranks 7th in OPS and 3rd in runs scored. For the regular season, Miami ranks 8th in OPS and 14th in runs scored. Take the Marlins to win at home.
