NL Cy Young Award winner Chris Sale (3-4) fanned ten batters across six solid frames and took the loss for the Braves (27-33), who fell to 17-13 at home. 

The Braves will counter with twenty-nine year old righty Grant Holmes (3-4 3.78 ERA) in the series finale. Through 64 plus innings, Holmes has struck out 64 batters and owns a solid 1.17 WHIP.

Arizona SP Corbin Burnes is seeking a second opinion on his injured elbow and his status to return is uncertain. Through 61 games, Arizona ranks 4th in OPS and 5th in runs scored.
