Vegas Vipers at Seattle Sea Dragons 4/23/23 - XFL Picks & Predictions

The final game of the XFL regular season will kickoff on Sunday night, when the Vegas Vipers visit the Seattle Sea Dragons. The Vipers (2-7) have led at halftime in most of their games, but have been unable to seal the deal far too often for head coach Rod Woodson. On Saturday, Vegas was outscored by 13 points during the second half of a 28-21 road loss against Houston.

Vegas marched the ball into the red zone on the game’s final possession, but Jalen McClendon’s pass to Matthew Sexton fell incomplete as time expired. McClendon completed 27 of 37 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns. The Vipers outgained the Roughnecks by a 316-237 margin.

The Seattle Sea Dragons are tied with St. Louis for second place in the North Division and need to win this game for a chance at a playoff spot. The Sea Dragons (6-3) would clinch a playoff spot with a Battlehawks loss on Saturday and a win in this game. Last week, Seattle outscored St. Louis by 13 points in the second half to pull away for a convincing 30-12 road triumph.

XFL MVP candidate Ben DiNucci carved up the St. Louis secondary for 260 passing yards and two touchdowns. Dinucci also rushed for 38 yards and a score. XFL leading receiver Jahcour Pearson caught seven passes for 115 yards and a score.

In the first meeting between these two teams, Vegas led 26-18 in the fourth quarter before Seattle scored two touchdowns to storm back for a 30-26 road victory. The Sea Dragons rolled up a season-high 519 total yards in that game. Look for Seattle to take care of business at home in a game that goes over the total. Final Score Prediction, Seattle Sea Dragons win 31-23.
