St. Louis Battlehawks at Vegas Vipers 3/25/23 - XFL Picks & Predictions

In Saturday week six XFL action, the St. Louis Battlehawks will travel to Cashman Field to tackle the Vegas Vipers. The Battlehawks (3-2) are currently tied with Seattle for second place in the North Division and rank in the middle of the pack in total yards. Last week, St. Louis trailed by 11 points at halftime during a 28-20 home loss versus first place DC.

St. Louis QB A.J. McCarron completed 22 of 34 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns. McCarron is now tied for the league lead with 11 passing touchdowns. The Battlehawks were gashed on the ground by DC RB Abram Smith, who carried 23 times for 218 rushing yards and three scores.

The Vegas Vipers have led at halftime in four of their first five games and are trying to turn things around for head coach Rod Woodson. The Vipers (1-4) rank third in the league in passing offense and have improved a rushing attack that currently ranks fourth. On Saturday, Vegas rushed for 123 yards and did not allow a sack during a 35-32 home victory versus winless Orlando.

Vegas QB Luis Perez surgically dissected the Orlando secondary for 269 passing yards and three touchdowns. WR Jeff Badet caught five passes for 80 yards and found the end zone twice. Rod Smith contributed 62 rushing yards and two scores for the Vipers.

St. Louis is averaging 22 points per game and their only two losses have come against undefeated DC. Vegas is playing better on offense, but has surrendered 94 points in their previous three games. Look for the Battlehawks to win a game that goes over the total. Final Score Prediction, St. Louis Battlehawks win 26-23.
