Seattle Sea Dragons at Vegas Vipers 3/4/23 - XFL Picks & Predictions

Cashman Field will play host to a Saturday afternoon XFL matchup between the Seattle Sea Dragons and the Vegas Vipers. The Sea Dragons (0-2) could easily have won their first two games and are one of the most talented teams in the league. On Thursday, Seattle surrendered a game-winning 44 yard field goal as time expired during a 22-20 home loss versus St. Louis.

Seattle took the lead with 81 seconds remaining on an eight-yard touchdown pass from Ben DiNucci to Jordan Veasy. Jahcour Pearson led the Sea Dragons with four receptions for 78 yards and a score. Seattle averaged 6.0 yards per play, but were plagued by three turnovers.

The Vegas Vipers feature a roster with plenty of former NFL players, including WR Martavis Bryant and LB Vic Bealsey. Through two games, the Vipers (0-2) are scuffling on offense and are trying to decide between quarterbacks Luis Perez and Brett Hundley. On Saturday, Vegas was limited to 178 yards of total offense during an ugly 18-6 home loss versus DC.

Vegas got on the scoreboard first on a two-yard touchdown run from DeAndre Torrey. The Vipers recovered a fumble after a sack to set up the one play scoring drive. Bailey Giffen missed two field goals in sloppy conditions. Rod Smith rushed for a team-high 38 yards on six carries.

Seattle QB Ben DiNucci leads the league in passing yards and has two of the league’s top four receivers at his disposal. The Sea Dragons are a negative five in turnover differential and have lost both games by two points. Look for Seattle to get some positive turnover regression and cover on the road against a hapless Vegas squad. Final Score Prediction, Seattle Sea Dragons win 23-15.
