Orlando Guardians at Vegas Vipers 3/18/23 - XFL Picks & Predictions

In Saturday night XFL action, the Orlando Guardians will travel to Cashman Field to tackle the Vegas Vipers. The Guardians (0-4) have surrendered a league high 17 sacks behind a subpar offensive line and are averaging a league low 12.3 points per game. Last week, Orlando trailed by 20 points after one quarter and committed 13 penalties during an ugly 44-16 home loss versus Houston.

Orlando QB Paxton Lynch completed 18 of 30 passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns. Lynch had a first quarter fumble that was returned 42 yards for a touchdown. Charleston Rambo caught an 81-yard touchdown pass in a losing effort for the Guardians.

The Vegas Vipers have led at halftime in three of their first four games, but have yet to win a game for head coach Rod Woodson. The Vipers (0-4) rank third in the league in passing offense, but most fix a rushing attack that ranks seventh. On Sunday, Vegas was plagued by mental mistakes and penalties during a 32-18 road loss against DC.

Luis Perez came off the Vegas bench to throw for 283 yards and two touchdowns. With the Vipers trailing 14-6, Perez was stopped at the goal line on the final play of the second quarter. Cinque Sweeting caught three passes for 65 yards and found the end zone twice.

Both teams are eager to find their way into the win column, but are coming off weak defensive performances. Look for both quarterbacks to light up the scoreboard and the over is definitely worth a look. The stronger play is on the Guardians to cover on the road. Final Score Prediction, Vegas Vipers win 25-21.
