The Orlando Guardians will take a road trip in week three to Arlington, TX for a matchup with the Arlington Renegades. Orlando comes into week 3 winless on the year following an 18 point blowout loss to San Antonio in week two. Offensively Orlando was terrible compiling only 175 yards to score only 12 points in the game resulting in the loss. Defensively Orlando was obliterated as San Antonio scored 30 points including seventeen in the second half on 210 total yards in the game.
Quarterback Paxton Lynch took most of the snaps for Orlando a week ago completing 9 passes for 79 yards and one score, while Deondre Francois completed six passes for eight yards and one score as well. Ja-Maine Martin led the way on the ground for Orlando with 48 yards on 9 carries to go along with two receptions for no yards as well. Javonta Payton led the way for the Orlando receivers with three catches for 47 yards, while Cody Latimer added 21 yards and one score on five grabs as well. Eli Rogers chipped in one catch for eight yards and one touchdown.
The Arlington Renegades will be at home in week 3 with a 1-1 record overall following a nine point loss to Houston a week ago. Offensively Arlington was terrible compiling only 125 total yards to gain 10 first downs, while scoring only 14 points after being shut out in 3 of the 4 quarters played. defensively Arlington was terrible as well giving up 242 yards and 23 points after Houston scored twelve points in the second half.
Drew Plitt led the way for the Arlington offense completing 15 of 29 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 14 yards rushing on two carries. De’Veon Smith led all ball carriers for Arlington with 16 yards on 7 carries and added 32 yards on four receptions as well. Sal Cannella led the team with 38 yards on four grabs, while Nate Becker chipped in 13 yards and one touchdown on one reception as well.
Orlando comes into week three as one of the worst teams in the league and will continue to struggle against a good Arlington team. Look for Arlington to control this game on both sides of the ball in front of their home fans in week three.
