Houston Roughnecks at DC Defenders 3/27/23 - XFL Picks & Predictions

This Sunday, the Houston Roughnecks will head to Audi Field to take on the D.C. Defenders. The Houston Roughnecks will enter this game against the D.C. Defenders following a heartbreaking loss against the Seattle Sea Dragons last Thursday which resulted in a final score of 21-14. The Roughnecks will do anything they can to prevent losing two games in a row.

The Houston Roughnecks and the D.C. Defenders were the only two in the XFL that held an undefeated record prior to the Roughnecks loss against the Sea Dragons, so now the Roughnecks will look to put themselves right back up top with the Defenders. In the game against the Sea Dragons, the Roughnecks had a very slow start as they were unable to score in the first half for the first time this season. If Houson wants to beat D.C., they’ll need to score at will from the beginning of the game all the way until the end.

The D.C. Defenders will enter this game against the Houston Roughnecks following a massive win against the St Louis Battlehawks which resulted in a final score of 28-20, who the Defenders have now defended twice so far this year. Safe to say that the D.C. Defenders have all the momentum heading into this game against the Roughnecks.

The D.C. Defenders have the best record in the XFL right now as they currently sit not only 1st in the North Division, but they sit first in the entire XFL with a record of 5-0. The Defenders owe a lot of credit to their quarterback Jordan Ta’amu who has carried this team to victory since day one. In the game against the Battlehawks, Ta’amu went 12/18 while throwing 90 yards and zero interceptions.

Despite the Roughnecks loss against the Seattle Sea Dragons, Houston is still a contender and will give the Defenders a run for their money, but the Defenders will come out with a win just like they’ve done all season long. Expect the Defenders to come out swinging in the first half and take advantage of a Roughnecks team that is notorios for having slow starts. Final Score Prediction, D.C. Defenders win 30-24.
