Houston Roughnecks at Arlington Renegades 4/23/23 - XFL Picks & Predictions

On Sunday, the Houston Roughnecks visit Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, Texas to play the Arlington Renegades in the final game of the regular season for both teams. Houston has clinched first place in the South division with a record of 6-3. The Roughnecks defeated the Vegas Vipers 28-21 last week. Max Borghi rushed for 74 yards and one touchdown for Houston, and quarterback Brandon Silvers passed for 105 yards but was intercepted twice.

Houston quarterback Brandon Silvers has passed for 1,551 yards with 13 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Max Borghi is the leading rusher for Houston with 310 yards and six touchdowns, while the leading receiver is Cedric Byrd with 257 yards and one touchdown reception. Houston is third in total yardage allowed at 274.3 yards per game and the Roughnecks are fourth in points allowed at 19.2 points per game.

The Arlington Renegades are second in the South Division but have not yet clinched a playoff berth as they are just one game ahead of third place San Antonio. Arlington was defeated by the DC Defenders last weekend 28-26. Arlington quarterback Luis Perez passed for 335 yards with one touchdown and one interception but the defense gave up 314 yards of total offense to DC.

Arlington quarterback Luis Perez has passed for 1,431 yards with nine touchdowns and six interceptions. The leading rusher for Arlington is De’Veon Smith with 365 yards and seven touchdowns, while the leading receiver is Sal Cannella with 374 yards. Arlington's defense is second in total yardage allowed at 270.6 yards per game and third in points allowed at 18.8 points per game.

Houston has already clinched first place in the South Division and cannot catch DC for the best overall record in the XFL, therefore expect the Roughnecks to rest a player or two in this matchup. Arlington's battling for a playoff berth and will have much more incentive to win as well as avenge a 23-14 Week 2 loss to Houston. Look for plenty of passing from Luis Perez and a strong Arlington defense that will result in the Renegades winning. Final Score Prediction, Arlington Renegades win and cover ATS 27-23.
