Washington Mystics vs Phoenix Mercury 8/28/20 - WNBA Picks & Predictions

The Washington Mystics look to snap a two-game losing streak on Friday when playing the Phoenix Mercury. Washington dropped to 4-9 following its 88-87 loss to the same Phoenix Mercury in the most recent game last weekend. The Mystics game on Wednesday was postponed after the WNBA teams decided to stand in solidarity with the family of Jacob Blake, the black man who was shot by police in Wisconsin over the weekend.

Myisha Hines-Allen is leading Washington in scoring and rebounding with averages of 16.2 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.  Hines-Allen is shooting 50% from the floor and 77% from the free throw line. Emma Meesseman is the leader in assists with an average of 4.5 per game. Washington has four players averaging double-figures in scoring. 

Phoenix looks for a second straight victory over Washington on Friday. The Mercury improved to 7-7 following their victory over the Mystics. Phoenix is in fifth place in the Western Conference standings. The Mercury were led by Diana Taurasi in the win with 34 points as the guard hit eight of her 15 field goals and 11 of 13 from the charity stripe.

Diana Taurasi is leading Phoenix in scoring with an average of 18.1 points per game and is leading in assists as well with an average of 4.1 per game. Brittney Griner is the second leading scorer and leading rebounder with averages of 17.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, but is out indefinitely with an injury. Phoenix has four players averaging double-figures in scoring.
