Washington Mystics at Las Vegas Aces 8/17/21 - WNBA Picks & Predictions

On Tuesday, the Washington Mystics look to bounce back from a loss when playing a second consecutive game against Las Vegas on the road. Washington is 8-11 following an 84-83 loss to the Aces on Sunday. The Mystics have lost five of the last six and are fourth in the Eastern Conference standings six games behind the first-place Connecticut Sun.

Tina Charles is the leading scorer and rebounder for Washington with averages of 26.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. Natasha Cloud is the leader in assists with an average of 6.1 assists per game. Ariel Atkins is the second-leading scorer with an average of 16.8 points per game and one of only four players for Washington averaging double-figures in scoring.

Las Vegas is 16-6 following its one-point victory on Sunday over the Mystics. Chelsea Gray sank the game-winner for Las Vegas in Sunday’s victory. A’ja Wilson was the leading scorer for Las Vegas with 20 points. With the victory, Las Vegas moved into a tie for first place in the Western Conference with the Seattle Storm two games ahead of the third-place Minnesota Lynx.

A'ja Wilson is the leading scorer and leading rebounder for Las Vegas with averages of 19.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game, while Liz Cambage is the second leading scorer and second-leading rebounder with averages of 14.8 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. Chelsea Gray is the leader in assists with an average of 6.1 per game.

While the OVER is a solid choice in this matchup, the play here is Washington. The Mystics covered the number in Sunday's loss to Las Vegas. Although Las Vegas will pick up the victory at home on Tuesday, the Aces will once again struggle against the Washington defense led by Tina Charles and Natasha Cloud. In addition, Marcia Hines-Allen has returned from a knee injury and will give the Mystics additional help in the backcourt. Final Score Prediction, Las Vegas Aces win but fall short ATS 80-77.
