Sun at Mystics 10/1/19 - WNBA Finals Picks & Predictions

On Tuesday, the Connecticut Sun visit Capital One Arena to play Game 2 of their best of five WNBA Finals against the Washington Mystics. The Sun were beaten by the Mystics in Game 1 on Sunday 95-86. The Sun trailed at the half 55-46. Courtney Williams led the Sun in the loss with 26 points, while Alyssa Thomas scored 20.

Washington jumped out to a 30-17 lead at the end of one quarter and used a big lineup of Elena Delle Donne, Emma Meesseman and Ariel Atkins and Connecticut found it difficult to guard the threesome. Delle Donne led the Mystics with 22 points, including two hoops late in the fourth when the Sun had reduced the Mystics lead to just four points. Atkins scored 21 and Kristi Toliver chipped in with 18.

During the regular season, Jonquel Jones was the leading scorer and leader in rebounds for the Sun with averages of 14.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Jasmine Thomas was the fourth leading scorer with an average of 11.1 points per game and leader in assists with an average of 5.4 per game. Four players for the Sun averaged double figures in scoring.

During the regular season Elena Della Donne was the leading scorer and rebounder for the Mystics with averages of 19.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Kristi Toliver was the leader in assists with an average 6.0 per game and the second leading scorer with an average of 13.0 points per game. In all, five players averaged double-figures in scoring for the Mystics.
