Seattle Storm vs Minnesota Lynx 9/24/20 - WNBA Picks & Predictions

Last Updated: 09/24/2020 at 11:14 AM ET

On Thursday, the Seattle Storm look to take a 2-0 lead in their WNBA semifinals best-of-five series when playing the Minnesota Lynx. Seattle opened the series on Tuesday with an 88-86 victory over the Lynx. Alysha Clark ‘s putback as the buzzer sounded gave Seattle the victory over Minnesota. Seattle has won seven consecutive games against Minnesota, but had not played since September 13th after finishing first in the Western Conference and earning a double-bye. Jewell Loyd led the Storm with 25 points.

After one game of the postseason for Seattle, Jewell Loyd is the leading scorer with an average of 25.0 points per game, while Breanna Stewart is the second leading scorer and leading rebounder with averages of 21.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. Sue Bird is the leader in assists after handing out eight in the first game of the playoffs. Five players are scoring in double-figures for Seattle in the postseason.

Minnesota's Napheesa Collier scored to tie the game with just less than 15 seconds to play but the Lynx were not able to grab the final rebound and lost on the putback by Clark. Collier led Minnesota with 25 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots. Odyssey Sims added 19 points, but just named Rookie of the Year Crystal Dangerfield scored just four points in the loss.

Through two games of the postseason, Odyssey Sims is the leading scorer for Minnesota with an average of 16.5 points per game and is tied with Napheesa Collier for the lead in assists with an average of 4.5 per game. Collier is the second leading scorer and the leading rebounder with averages of 16.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.

Although Minnesota will bounce back with a hard-fought victory over Seattle on Thursday in Game 2, the play here is the OVER. The OVER has cashed  in five of Minnesota's last six and in five of Seattle's last six. Both teams possess star players on the offensive end of the court as Minnesota has Napheesa Collier and rookie Crystal Dangerfield, while Seattle has Jewell Loyd and one of the best all-around players in the WNBA Breanna Stewart. Final Score Prediction, Minnesota Lynx win but our best play is OVER 89-85
