The Phoenix Mercury come into the 2024 season looking to return to their winning ways. Phoenix won 19 of 21 games during the regular season last year but still made the playoffs. The Phoenix season came to an end after just two games as Minnesota swept the Mercury out of the playoffs. Offensively Phoenix scored the ball well in the playoffs averaging 91.5 points per game through two games played. Defensively, however Phoenix was terrible as Minnesota averaged 101.5 points per game through two games played.

Phoenix struggled in the preseason this year as they lost both games played. Defensively Phoenix had some issues in the preseason allowing 84.5 points per game overall. Offensively Phoenix was mediocre averaging 81.5 points per game through two games played. Alyssa Thomas and Satou Sabally led the way for the Phoenix offense in their second preseason game of the year scoring 15 points each.

Seattle had the better preseason and will carry that into the regular season on Saturday. Look for Seattle to play well enough on both sides of the ball to overwhelm a lackluster Phoenix team.
