The Phoenix Suns travel on the road to Golden 1 Center to take on the Sacramento Kings.

Both the Suns and Kings opened off their season with wins, the Suns with a home win over the Dallas Mavericks winning 106-102. The Kings went on the road to beat the Denver Nuggets 124-122, after finishing last season well out of the playoff picture at 31-41. The Suns finished last year just outside of the picture at 34-39 but are a team trending in the right direction with a solid young core.

Phoenix dealt with a suspension to flourishing star DeAndre Ayton in the midst of last season but the offense was led by superstar Devin Booker. Booker averaged 26.6 points, 6.5 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game last season while shooting 35.4% from beyond the arc. Ayton averaged was a 2018-2019 All-Rookie, played in 38 games last season averaging 18.2 points and 11.5 rebounds per game.

The Suns also added veteran point guard Chris Paul during the offseason, if there is one thing Pheonix was lacking last season it was a true veteran to lead the offense. Paul should solve that issue as well as providing the ability to score the ball and dish out assists, he averaged 17.6 points and 6.7 assists per game for the Thunder last season.

Sacramento replaced the general manager and coach, with the placements of Vlade Divac and Luke Walton coming into lead the team. The Kings lost Brogdan Bogdanovic to free agency but added Hassan Whiteside and Frank Kaminski in free agency for a much cheaper price. They also added Iowa State guard Tyrese Haliburton through the draft.

Sacramento was among the worst teams in the Western Conference last season and with the loss of Brogdonovich will struggle to replicate that, despite how bad it was. They added some nice pieces for backcourt depth with Kaminski and the veteran Whiteside as well as crafty guard Haliburton in the draft. The Suns will be rolling with a similar team as well as the addition of Chris Paul and will almost no doubt finish with a better record than they did last season.

The Suns are going on the road, but have already notched a solid win over the Mavericks and return a ton of talent from last years’ team. With the addition of Chris Paul, they’ve made themselves contenders in the Western conference and should have no problem steamrolling one of the worst teams in the Western Conference. Both teams opened with wins, but the Suns keep it going while the Kings fall at home. Final score prediction, Phoenix Suns win and cover ATS 115-104.
