Phoenix Mercury at Los Angeles Sparks 7/4/22 - WNBA Picks & Predictions

The Phoenix Mercury look to bounce back from a loss with a victory on Monday when visiting the Los Angeles Sparks. Phoenix is 9-13 following its 91-75 loss to the Chicago Sky on Saturday. Skylar Diggins-Smith was the leading scorer for Phoenix with 25 points, while Diamond DeShields chipped in with 21 points and nine rebounds. Phoenix is fifth in the Western Conference, seven games behind the first-place Las Vegas Aces.

Skylar Diggins-Smith is leading Phoenix in scoring and assists with averages of 19.0 points and 5.1 assists per game. Brianna Turner is the leading rebounder for Phoenix with an average of 7.7 rebounds per game. Diana Taurasi is the second-leading scorer with an average of 15.6 points per game and one of three players for Phoenix averaging double-figures in scoring. Phoenix scores an average of 82.4 points per game.

Los Angeles will complete a back to back on Sunday when hosting Phoenix after also playing host to the New York Liberty on Saturday. Los Angeles is 8-11 following its 97-89 victory over the Dallas Wings on Friday. Liz Cambage and Nneka Ogwumike each scored 21 points to lead Los Angeles. The Sparks are tied for third in the Western Conference with Dallas, 6 ½ games behind the first-place Las Vegas Aces.

Nneka Ogwumike is the leading scorer and rebounder for Los Angeles with averages of 18.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. Jordan Canada is the leader in assists with an average of 4.9 assists per game. Liz Cambage is the second leading scorer with an average of 13.1 points per game and is one of four players for Los Angeles averaging double-figures in scoring. The Sparks score an average of 82.1 points per game.

Los Angeles will be completing a back-to-back when hosting Phoenix on Sunday but that should not hurt the performance of the Sparks. Phoenix has been troubled with problems amongst its players as Skylar Diggins-Smith and Diana Taurasi have not seen eye-to-eye this season and the Mercury just let the disgruntled Tina Charles leave the team. Los Angeles has covered the number in four of its last five and will do so again on Sunday. Final Score Prediction, Los Angeles Sparks win and cover ATS 88-80.
