The Phoenix Mercury will again be on the road Saturday night for game two of their first round series in Las Vegas, NV against the Las Vegas Aces. Phoenix comes into game two down 1 game to none after a 16 point loss in game 1. Offensively Phoenix was abysmal making only 30.7% of their shots and 27.8% from beyond the arc, while turning the ball over 10 times in the loss.

Diamond DeShields led the way for the Phoenix offense with 18 points and eight rebounds on 7 of 22 shooting in 32 minutes the floor. Sophie Cunningham chipped in 12 points as the only other starter in double figures, while Megan Gustafsson added 12 points as well to lead the way off the bench.

The Las Vegas Aces come into game two of this series following a blowout win in game. Offensively Las Vegas was dominant making 40.6% of their shots to score 79 points in the game including 42 in the first half.

Kelsey Plum led all scorers in the game with 22 points on six of 13 shooting and 35 minutes on the floor. Chelsea Gray poured in 17 points and Jackie Young added 16 points as the third player in double figures. A’Ja Wilson scored eight points to go along with 12 rebounds in 33 minutes on the floor.
