On Tuesday, the Washington Mystics visit the Connecticut Sun for Game 4 of their WNBA Finals best of five series. Washington leads the series 2-1 after defeating Connecticut on Sunday 94-81 in Game 3. Elena Delle Donne played despite back problems and scored 13 points. While Delle Donne was limited in her ability to move, Krista Toliver, Natasha Cloud and Emma Meesseman carried the Mystics offense with Meesseman scoring 21 points including nine to begin the fourth quarter.
Jasmine Thomas and Shekinna Stricklen both scored 16 points for Connecticut in the loss, while Bria Holmes chipped in with 15. Jonquel Jones, who led the Sun in Game 2 with 32 points and 18 boards, scored only nine points and pulled down nine rebounds. The Sun were outrebounded 34-27 after outrebounding the Mystics 41-27 during Game 2.
Through the 34-game regular season, Elena Della Donne was the leading scorer and rebounder for the Mystics with averages of 19.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Kristi Toliver was the leader in assists with an average 6.0 per game and the second leading scorer with an average of 13.0 points per game. In all, five players averaged double-figures in scoring for the Mystics.
Through the 34-game regular season, Jonquel Jones was the leading scorer and leader in rebounds for the Sun with averages of 14.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Jasmine Thomas was the fourth leading scorer with an average of 11.1 points per game and leader in assists with an average of 5.4 per game. Four players for the Sun averaged double figures in scoring.
