On Tuesday, the Washington Mystics visit Las Vegas for Game 4 of their WNBA semifinals best of five series against the Las Vegas Aces. Washington leads the series 2-1 after losing Game 3 on Sunday in Sin City 92-75. The Mystics received 22 points from Elena Delle Donne, but Emma Meesseman who scored a combined 57 points in Games 1 and 2, scored just six on Sunday.
The Aces used tenacious defense against the Delle Donne and Meesseman not allowing the two to have open shots. Liz Cambage came up big with 28 points and six rebounds, while A’ja Wilson scored 21 and pulled down eight rebounds. The inside combo of Cambage and Wilson worked to perfection in Game 3 as the two combined to shoot 20-for-29 and sank 9 of 11 from the charity stripe.
During the regular season Elena Della Donne was the leading scorer and rebounder for the Mystics with averages of 19.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Kristi Toliver was the leader in assists with an average 6.0 per game and the second leading scorer with an average of 13.0 points per game. In all, five players averaged double-figures in scoring for the Mystics.
During the regular season A’ja Wilson was the leading scorer and second leading rebounder for Las Vegas with averages of 16.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Liz Cambage was the second leading scorer and leader in rebounding with averaging of 15.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Jackie Young led the Aces in assists with an average of 4.5 per game.
