Minnesota Lynx at Phoenix Mercury 5/25/23 - WNBA Picks & Predictions

The Minnesota Lynx will take their first road trip of the season Thursday night with the game in Phoenix, AZ against the Phoenix Mercury. Minnesota comes into Thursday winless are the first two games following 11 point loss to Chicago last game out. Defensively Minnesota struggled a bit giving up 77 points on 43.1% shooting and 37.5% from beyond the arc. The Minnesota offense was terrible however scoring just 66 points including only three in the second quarter after shooting 33.3% from the floor and 25% from beyond the arc.

Napheesa Colier led the show for the Minnesota offense with 17 points and five rebounds on 14 shots in 30 minutes of action. Kayla McBride scored twelve points, while the other three Minnesota starters combined to score 17 total points. The Minnesota bench scored a total of 20 points in the game as well.

The Phoenix Mercury stays at home Thursday night winless through their first two games of the year following a six point loss to Chicago last game out. Defensively Phoenix struggled a bit as Chicago scored 75 points on 40% shooting and 40% from beyond the arc. Phoenix did shoot the ball well making 41.1% of their shots but missed six free throws and turned the ball over 19 times resulting in the loss.

Britney Griner led the way for the Phoenix offense with 27 points and 10 rebounds on 13 shots and 31 minutes of action. Diana Taurasi chipped in a second by 16 points, while the other three Phoenix starters combined to score 12 total points. Sug Sutton led the way off the phoenix bench with 13 points and 30 minutes of action.
