Sparks vs Lynx Prediction

The Minnesota Lynx are riding high at 11-1 and are back home to host the struggling 4-9 Los Angeles Sparks. The Sparks just got blown out 98-67 by Seattle, while the Lynx dominated Las Vegas 76-62. These teams met less than a week ago, and it wasn’t close—Minnesota crushed L.A. 101-78. Take the WNBA by storm with our WNBA picks.

The Sparks have dropped two straight and four of the last five, including a double-digit loss to this same Lynx squad. Despite Kelsey Plum’s 20.9 points per game, she’s shooting just 38.4% from the field. Plum is also dealing with a day-to-day injury, as are Odyssey Sims and three others, including Cameron Brink, who’s ruled out. Los Angeles has lost three of the last four by double digits, with no signs of turning things around.

Defensively, the Sparks are one of the league’s worst, allowing 86.9 points per game while only scoring 82.2. The 43.4% shooting isn’t enough to overcome a shaky defense, and the rebounding numbers (33.8 per game) are neutral. The assist numbers are poor too, at just 19.3 per game. They average 8.2 steals but lack rim protection with only 2.7 blocks per game. That makes the absence of Brink even more costly.

Minnesota is rolling. Napheesa Collier is an MVP candidate, leading the Lynx with 24.4 points per game on 52.4% shooting and hitting 93.1% of her free throws. The Lynx have won nine of the last ten and are 6-0 at home. Last time out, they handled the Aces easily and just wrecked the Sparks days ago. Even if Collier ends up missing the game, this Lynx team is so deep and balanced.

On defense, the Lynx are the best in the West, giving up only 74.8 points a night and holding teams to 46.6% shooting. They share the ball well with 24.1 assists per game and slightly edge L.A. in rebounding. The number of blocked shots (4.9 per game) is almost double that of the Sparks, and they also get 7.9 steals per game. With only one loss all year and no road defeats at home, this is a confident group.

Sparks vs Lynx Pick Analysis

Minnesota is dominant defensively, better coached, and much healthier than the Sparks. The Lynx are unbeaten at home and just thrashed L.A. by 23 last week. The Sparks have a weak defense and injury issues across the board, especially with Brink out and Plum questionable. Final Score Prediction: Minnesota Lynx win and cover 92-73.
