Sparks vs Aces Prediction

Los Angeles heads to Las Vegas looking to bounce back after dropping an overtime loss to the Seattle Storm, 89-81. The Sparks are 3-7 and just 2-2 on the road, while the Aces are 4-3 and undefeated at home. Las Vegas is coming off a rough 95-68 loss to the Golden State Valkyries, but handled the Sparks with ease in the last meeting, 96-81. Take the WNBA by storm with our WNBA picks.

The Sparks are struggling to find consistency and have now lost four of the last five, including a rematch against the Aces just two weeks ago. They did notch a solid 93-79 road win against Dallas on June 6, but haven’t built on it. The offense hasn’t been the issue — Los Angeles is averaging 82.8 points while shooting 44% from the field, which is solid — but crunch-time execution and turnovers have cost them late in games.

Defensively, the Sparks give up 83.7 points a night and have had issues controlling the paint. Injuries don’t help either with Cameron Brink and Rae Burrell both out. Rebounding is below league average at 32.2 per game, and while they average 9.2 steals per game, they’re allowing teams to shoot at a high rate. Kelsey Plum leads the team with 21.6 points per game, but is getting little help offensively outside of spotty production from the bench.

The Aces were embarrassed in the last game, falling by 27 on the road to Golden State. But returning to Michelob ULTRA Arena — where they’re 2-0 — should bring some energy back. Las Vegas beat Los Angeles easily in the last matchup thanks to big nights from A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young. They’ll look to repeat that formula and snap out of the current 1-2 slide.

The offense starts with A’ja Wilson, who’s averaging 22 points and shooting 46.1% while hitting 91.7% from the line. The Aces are allowing 82 points per game and holding teams to 39.2% shooting — impressive considering the team’s pace. They also average 4.7 blocks per game and are the better rebounding team at 33.0 boards per night. With both Megan Gustafson and Cheyenne Parker-Tyus sidelined, depth could be a concern, but the Aces’ core is still elite.

Sparks vs Aces Pick Analysis

The Sparks are banged up, inconsistent, and just dropped an overtime heartbreaker. Las Vegas already beat them by 15 last month and is a perfect 2-0 at home. The Aces have the better defense (39.2% FG allowed vs 44.0%), the more efficient scorer in Wilson, and a rebounding edge. Bouncing back from a blowout loss, they get it done. Final Score Prediction: Las Vegas Aces win 92-77.
