Aces vs Lynx Prediction

The Las Vegas Aces (5-5) travel to face the red-hot Minnesota Lynx (10-1) in a Commissioner’s Cup showdown at Target Center. The Aces are coming off a 76-70 loss to Phoenix, while the Lynx crushed LA 101-78 in the last outing. Take the WNBA by storm with our WNBA picks.

Las Vegas has been up and down lately, dropping three of the last five, including a 27-point road loss to Golden State and a close battle against LA. The biggest question mark ahead of this one is A’ja Wilson’s status, who’s listed as day-to-day. When she plays, she dominates, averaging 20.9 points, 43.3% from the field, and 91.4% from the line. The Aces beat Dallas 88-84 in between losses, but inconsistency is killing them.

Defensively, the Aces have problems. They’re giving up 83.9 points per game while scoring just 82.0. The 39.3% shooting is near the bottom in the league, and they’ve been out-assisted badly, averaging just 16.1 per game. Injuries don’t help either, with Megan Gustafson and Cheyenne Parker-Tyus still out. Las Vegas averages 32.8 rebounds but struggles with shooting and pressure, even though they average 8.3 steals per game.

Minnesota has looked like the best team in the WNBA through 11 games. They've won five straight at home and nine of the last ten overall. Napheesa Collier has been playing MVP-caliber basketball, dropping 26.1 points per game on 53.3% shooting while pulling in rebounds and doing it all on both ends. The only loss came on the road at Seattle, but otherwise, they’ve dominated opponents with a balanced attack.

The Lynx defense is elite. Allowing just 75.9 points per game while scoring 85.9, they lead the league in FG% at 47.5% and hand out 24.5 assists a game. They also block 5.0 shots per contest and pull down 33.4 boards. The lone injury is Jessica Shepard, who hasn’t slowed them at all. Collier leads the way, but the system and depth make them tough to play against.

Aces vs Lynx Pick Analysis

Minnesota’s defense and shooting edge are just too much to ignore. They’re scoring more, allowing less, and executing at a way higher level than Las Vegas. The Aces are missing key pieces, and possibly Wilson too. The Lynx haven’t lost at home, and with the way they’re sharing the ball and shooting, that streak should stay alive. Final Score Prediction: Minnesota Lynx win 87-76.
