Fever vs Storm Picks and Prediction – 6/23/2023

The Indiana Fever will be out West Thursday night in Seattle for a match up with the Seattle Storm. Indiana comes into Thursday three games below .500 following a six point loss to Atlanta that ended a 2 game win streak. Defensively Indiana was terrible against the Dream giving up 100 points including 52 in the second half as Atlanta shot 56.1% from the floor and 46.1% from beyond the arc. Offensively Indiana did play well pouring in 94 points but scored just fourteen in the first quarter on 45.2% shooting from the floor.

Kelsey Mitchell is the offensive leader for Indiana this season averaging 17.5 points per game on 42.5% shooting from the floor. Rookie Aliyah Boston is second on the team averaging 16 points per game through her first 11 games of her career.  Erica Wheeler is scoring 8.4 points to go along with a team leading 5.3 assists, while NaLyssa Smith averages a third best 14.1 points per game.

The Seattle Storm go back home Thursday night five games below .500 after a six point victory over Dallas. Offensively Seattle had one of their best games of the season pouring in 109 points on 50% shooting from the floor and 48.6% from beyond the arc. Defensively Seattle had issues giving up 103 points on 50% shooting before 13 turnovers to secure the narrow victory.

Jewell Loyd carried the Seattle offense as one of five starters in double figures with 39 points on 22 shots in 38 minutes of Ezi Magbegor added 15 points in 26 minutes, while Mercedes Russell chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds in 34 minutes of action. The Seattle bench combined to score 18 total points in the game.
