Dallas Wings vs Minnesota Lynx 9/4/20 - WNBA Picks & Predictions

The Minnesota Lynx will be looking to make it three straight wins after eeking out a win over the Sky 86-83, improving to 12-5 on the season. And with the Dallas Wings standing in their way, they have a great chance to do so. Dallas has lost three of it’s last four, falling 91-83 to the Sparks and moving to 6-11 on the season.

Minnesota is averaging 82.8 points per game on the season, led in scoring by Nico Collier averaging 15.9 points per game. Collier is efficient, shooting 51.8% from the field and is averaging 8.8 rebounds per game which ranks her 3rd in the WNBA this year. Collier struggled her last time out but Damiris Dantas was there to pick up the slack. Dantas had a career night scoring 28 points on 5/5 from beyond the arc.

The Wings have struggled on the offensive end averaging 82 points per game and shooting 33% from three, the 9th best clip in the WNBA this season. Dallas' offense runs through Arike Ogunbowale, who is one the best scorers in the WNBA. She leads the league in scoring with her 21.7 points per game. Ogunbowale is going to shoot in volume, making them or missing them Dallas is looking to her; she's averaging 41.3% from the field. Ogunbowale also leads the team in assists, with 3.5 per game.

Dallas’ defense is allowing 85.3 points per game, which ranks them 8th in scoring defense and opposing teams are shooting 46.1% from the field. Minnesota will definitely make things tough on Ogunbowale, as they allow opposing teams to score just 77.4 points per game and ranked second in scoring defense.

Minnesota is getting on a hot streak as we approach the playoffs and there’s no reason they can’t continue that against the stuttering Wings offense that relies heavily on Ogunbowale. The Lynx are third in the WNBA in defensive shooting percentage and three-point defense. Minnesota with the dominance of Collier in the middle will be tough to match, especially a Wings defense that ranks 11th in defensive shooting percentage. Minnesota continues their hot streak in a win over Dallas. Final score prediction, Minnesota Lynx win and cover ATS 89-75.
