Wings vs Sparks Picks and Prediction – 6/25/2023

The Dallas Wings end a three-game homestand Sunday with a game out West in Los Angeles against the Sparks. Dallas is an even 6-6 on the year following a 12 point victory over Atlanta to end a three-game skid. Defensively Dallas had things under control against Atlanta allowing just 73 points on 32.8% shooting and forced 14 total turnovers. The Dallas offense was right on pace for their season average scoring 85 points on nearly 41% shooting from the floor.

Arike Ogunbowale has been one of the most potent scorers in the WNBA this season leading Dallas averaging 23.3 points per game to go along with a team high 4.2 assists. Satou Sabally is second on the team averaging 20 points per game and leads Dallas averaging 10.4 rebounds per game. Natasha Howard averages 16.4 points and 1.4 blocks per game as the third Dallas player averaging double digits.

The Los Angeles Sparks stay at home Sunday having an abysmal season two games below 500. Los Angeles has lost four of their last five including three in a row after a six game loss to the Minnesota Lynx. Offensively Los Angeles has been a middle of the pack averaging 78.9 points per game on 42.7% shooting, but the defense has been lackluster allowing 78.6 points per game through the 12 games. Offensively Los Angeles had one of their worst games of the year last time out pouring in just 61 points after a terrible 28 point second half on 37.1% shooting from the floor.

Nneka Ogwumike carried the Los Angeles offense in scoring against Minnesota with 20 points and nine rebounds on 14 shots. Jordin Canada added ten points and five assists in 34 minutes as the only other Los Angeles player in double figures. The rest of the Los Angeles starters combined to score 18 total points. The Los Angeles bench was abysmal as well scoring just 13 points between five different players.
