Sky vs Aces Picks and Prediction – 9/17/2023

The Las Vegas Aces will host the Chicago Sky Sunday for game two of their first round matchup. Offensively Chicago was a middle of the pack team this season averaging nearly 82 points per game on 44.2% shooting from the floor.

Kahleah Copper was the only real spark for the Chicago offense in game one of the playoffs scoring 15 points on 35.7% shooting from the floor. Alanna Smith scored eight points and Marina Mabrey poured in seven points in game one. Courtney Williams scored nine points to go along with a team leading 11 rebounds and six assists against Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Aces were the number one seed in the WNBA all season and looked at the part in game one of their first round series. Offensively Las Vegas dominated all season averaging nearly 93 points per game on 48.6% shooting from the floor. Vegas scored only 87 points in game one of the series but allowed Chicago to score just 59 points across four quarters. Offensively Las Vegas shot the ball well making 43% of their shots leading to 87 points in the game after a blistering 53 point first half.

Chelsea Gray orchestrated the game for Vegas pouring in a team high 20 points on 15 shots and 32 minutes of action. A’ja Wilson added 14 points and eight rebounds, while Jackie Young scored 18 points in 29 minutes. Kelsey Plum was the 4th Las Vegas starter in double figures with 16 points on 17 shots in 33 minutes of action.
