In week five USFL action, the New Orleans Breakers will battle the New Jersey Generals from Protective Stadium. The Generals (3-1) have rebounded after a season opening loss against Birmingham and sit atop the North Division standings. On Saturday, New Jersey possessed the ball for nearly 35 minutes during a 21-13 victory versus winless Pittsburgh.
New Jersey got on the scoreboard first on a 62-yard touchdown pass from De’Andre Johnson to Alonzo Moore. KaVontaeTurpin and Darius Victor added rushing touchdowns for the Generals.
The New Orleans Breakers are currently in second place in the South Division standings and rank second in the league in points allowed (58). On Sunday, New Orleans scored ten points during the final three minutes to rally for a 23-16 victory against Houston. The Breakers (3-1) outgained the Gamblers by an eye-popping 523-155 margin, but turned the ball over four times on the afternoon.
New Orleans stunned Houston on a 29-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Sloter to Jonathan Adams with ten seconds remaining. Sloter finished the day with 414 yards through the air and three interceptions.
