New Jersey Generals at Tampa Bay Bandits 5/28/22 - USFL Picks & Predictions

On Saturday, the New Jersey Generals visit the Tampa Bay Bandits for a USFL Week 7 showdown. New Jersey improved to 5-1 and won its fifth straight when defeating the Houston Gamblers 26-25. New Jersey won despite losing starting quarterback De’Andre Johnson in the first quarter. Prior to being injured, Johnson threw for 52 yards and one touchdown. Johnson’s availability for Saturday is unknown.

De’Andre Johnson has passed for 600 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, while Luis Perez has passed for 576 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Darius Victor is the leading rusher with 365 yards and five touchdowns, while the leading receiver is KaVontae Turpin with 341 yards and two touchdown receptions. D’Juan Hines is the leader in tackles with 41, while Tyshun Render is the leader in sacks with 1.5 and Shalom Luani has a team high three interceptions.

Tampa Bay dropped to 3-3 following its 35-28 loss to the Philadelphia Stars last in Week 6. Tampa Bay quarterback Jordan Ta’amu threw for 333 yards and four touchdowns but the defense could not keep Philadelphia out of the end zone. Ta’amu was also the leading rusher for Tampa Bay with 61 yards, while Rashard Davis caught three passes for 83 yards and Cheyenne O’Grady had two touchdown receptions.

Tampa Bay quarterback Jordan Ta’amu has passed for 1,167 yards with nine touchdowns and five interceptions. Ta’amu is the leading rusher with 204 yards, while Juwan Washington has a team-high three rushing touchdowns. The leading receiver is Derrick Dillon with 239 yards and two touchdown receptions. Christian Sam is the leader in tackles with 42, while Greg Reaves has a team-high three quarterback sacks and Sam has a team-leading one interception.

New Jersey is 5-1 while Tampa Bay is 3-3, but New Jersey is likely to play without its top quarterback De’Andre Johnson. Tampa Bay has a strong offense led by quarterback Jordan Ta’amu who has thrown for 1167 yards and nine touchdowns. The Bandits are averaging 274.3 yards per game and will score enough against the Generals, who are likely to be without their biggest offensive threat, Johnson. Final Score Prediction, Tampa Bay Bandits win and cover ATS 30-21.
