New Jersey Generals at Pittsburgh Maulers 5/7/22 - USFL Picks & Predictions
Last Updated: 05/02/2022 at 11:42 PM ET
The first game of a Week four USFL Saturday doubleheader will feature a matchup between the New Jersey Generals and the Pittsburgh Maulers. The Generals (2-1) have rebounded after a season opening loss against Birmingham and sit atop the North Division standings. On Sunday, New Jersey rallied from a six-point deficit entering the fourth quarter to earn a 24-16 victory against Philadelphia.
New Jersey dominated Philadelphia in the rushing game by a 269-31 margin and possessed the ball for close to 37 minutes. QB De’Andre Johnson rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown for the Generals.
The Pittsburgh Maulers are the lone winless team in the league and rank last in total offense (267 ypg). On Sunday, Pittsburgh failed to generate many explosive plays during a 24-0 loss versus Michigan. The Maulers were outgained by a 309-228 margin and allowed the Panthers to score touchdowns on three out of four red zone trips.
Madre London carried 11 times for 68 yards and was the most productive Pittsburgh offensive player. Tre Walker caught five passes for 58 yards in a losing effort for the Maulers.
Pittsburgh has yet to show any creativity on offense and have managed just 26 points through three games. Since I do not envision the Maulers scoring more than ten points in this game, take New Jersey to cover the number. Final Score Prediction, New Jersey Generals win 27-7.
