The Houston Gamblers are on the road Sunday in Week 4 of the USFL to play the New Orleans Breakers. Houston fell to 1-2 following its 27-26 loss to the Tampa Bay Bandits last week. The Gamblers led 26-17 entering the fourth quarter but could not hold on. Houston upgraded its secondary this week by signing safety Jeremiah Johnson and cornerback Brandon Williams. Houston is allowing nearly 210 yards per game through the air and 164.3 yards per game rushing.
Clayton Thorson has passed for 454 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions, while the leading rusher is Mark Thompson with 310 yards and one touchdown. Isaiah Zuber is leading all receivers for Houston with 136 yards and three touchdown receptions. Donald Payne has 41 tackles to lead Houston while Chris Odom is the leader in quarterback sacks 4.5 and Will Likely has a team high two interceptions.
New Orleans dropped to 2-1 following its 22-13 loss in Week 3 to the Birmingham Stallions in a matchup dominated by the defense for both teams. Quarterback Kyle Sloter passed for 241 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while running back Jordan Smith rushed for 57 yards and wide receiver Victor Bolden Jr caught six passes for 69 yards with one touchdown.

New Orleans is 2-1 through its first three games of the USFL regular season, while Houston has struggled at 1-2. New Orleans played well in its only loss to Birmingham in a defensive struggle. New Orleans has a strong defense and that defense and will shut down the Houston offense. The Gamblers added depth to their defensive secondary but those additions will need time to come up to speed. New Orleans wide receiver Johnnie Dixon has 165 yards receiving and three touchdowns and will be tough for the rebuilt Gamblers secondary to stop.
